Over the week, I will be putting Autumn Targets for your child into their planner. Please take the time to look at these (page 71 of the planner). I will be having short 1-1 meetings with pupils each afternoon this week to share their targets and give them the opportunity to talk about them or ask questions as well as setting personal targets for learning skills.
Year 1 pupils have been working on their letter formation this morning. We learned to have our bottom back in chair (BBC) and tummy near table (TNT) in order to be sat correctly. What beautiful round letters we have made today!
Pupils were set the challenge of choosing a London landmark and finding out about it. They chose their own way of presenting their information and used a range of books and Internet searches to gather their information. We then put all that we had found into our big book of learning.
please check your child’s planner this weekend as they have been given their first spelling list of the year. They will be tested on these next Friday. We are beginning with tricky words before moving on to the usual spelling scheme that you will be familiar with.
A huge well done to Year 2 pupils who have slotted back into learning with great enthusiasm. They have loved using the hall and have shown they have developed into confident and independent Year 2s. Today we have been exploring the value of 2 digit numbers, using base 10 to show our understanding.
